COVID-19 is losing the battle in Puerto Vallarta, during the last days, more recovered patients have been registered than new infections, according to figures from the epidemiological map of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
The country’s top university informed this Wednesday (April 22) a total of 14 people were already recovered from the dangerous virus, this means an a increase of 3 compared to the previous day.
This is highly superior to the confirmed cases, which added just 2 new ones in the same last 24 hours. In the previous day, the contagions had also risen at a slower rate, adding 1 new from more in Monday to Tuesday, while the number of recovered people grew from 6 to 11 in the same time.
At the moment, COVID-19 already have infected 29 people in Puerto Vallarta, however, from these we must subtract the 3 unfortunate deaths and also the 14 patients who have already overcome the disease.
This last count, leaves us with a total of just 12 active cases. In other words: during the last 48 hours, 8 recovered patients have been registered against only 3 new COVID-19 cases.
On the other hand, only 9 of the 29 cases have required hospitalization, according with the data provided by the federal Ministry of Health, and the remained cases have been attendant in home
Likewise, 10 of the patients have been women and 19 men. The youngest infected person was in a range of 0 – 4 years old. And the oldest person was 65 – 69 years old. The SARS-CoV-2 case fatality rate in Puerto Vallarta is 10%, while the incidence rate is 9.68%.
Moreover, Bahía de Banderas municipality reports still the same 5 cases: 1 death and 1 recovered, so there are only 3 active patient. And Tomatlán has 3 infected people registred, two whom died. That one was a 54 years old woman, which the Jalisco’s Health Secretary recorded in Puerto Vallarta, but was finally reordered for Tomatlan figures.
Finally, the mexican federal Health’s Promotion and Prevention sub secretary, Hugo López Gatell, called to the population to not stop the contention measures, after declared the Phase 3, because the most critical part of the pandemy is just incoming.
It’s estimated if the people keep following the measures and stay massively in home, there will be only a rate of infected people of 175 – to 300 thousand.
